Time has been unkind to him. All that is now left of the outspoken champion of the ordinary Jerseyman is the bad grammar. Just a mean and cynical old man who sold out his principles years ago.

I think his views about housing such as states housing is a priveledge not a right, is very correct.
his views on kicking people out if they do not behave pay rent etc is right.
and now standing up and saying the housing market can not sustain more people getting their quallies so did not drop them, nust have been hard to say.
I like him and he gets my vote.

I suspect that not that many bad tenants have been given the boot. From what I hear there are still many people who are behind with their rent, to the tune of many thousands.
Would be interesting to find out what the truth is, whether his tough talk was just talk, or whether they have really done anything about it.

They could do with somebody different in the role. He has been in housing for what? Over 20 years?

Another of Jersey's better politicians, he does what he said he would at the hustings. If you come up against a bureaucratic brick wall, as you can do very easily at housing he is quick to respond to e-mails and has put me in touch with the right civil servant to either find a way to avoid an eviction or to get a family in dire need housed quickly.

This is the man who has got to where he is, by being a man of the people. And now he's got there, he's saying, stuff you lot the establishment is the one to be standing next to.
But anyway for 2008 the word is

I am just so surprised he has been in the same job for so long and it is such a mess. How many millions did he waste recently? Need somebody else in charge me thinks!

wasn't there some fiasco a few years back when Midland bank were going to forclose of Dandara, then all of a sudden housing bought a load of flats from Dandara for the "housing stock" which is why we have states housing on the waterfront?

I see by Syvret's recent blog that Stuart doesn't think that highly of him.

So, according to Le Main, Senior Civil Servants would never lie. Does he really believe his own words (see "thick" above), or is he also lying to us?
