Thanks Moot! Another person who witnessed her in full flow has sent her a polite email asking her to explain her behaviour. He then sent her another email remider after a few days lapsed. Guess what? Still no reply. Yep that tells me all I need to know about this one. But there are many others in there, from both sides of the house, whose inability to debate, reason and engage if frankly quite startling. The whole way the house is structed, even down to the actual layout of the chamber, makes it hard for meaninful dialogue.

I make the point about the design of the chamber because every 5 minutes one of them is off for a coffee. As they get up they usually, unless they are on the end of a row, have to get everyone else up out of their chair. This beaks people's concentration, is disruptive and means that important information can get missed. Shambles.
Pimp the States Chamber.

Thank you Dylan. You know me too well. In fact there was another I'm sure. I thought I spotted Terry Le Main having a little dig mid morning. Either that or he was massaging his brain into action in the hope that he might be prompted to say something meaningful. Needless to say..........

Maybe the people in the public gallery should try to wake the sleeping states members up.....by picking and flicking at the sleeping member!

On another note, I have not heard of her either but then I am not in St Brelade so thats one reason. I would also say that when I read (rarely) some of the votes on the assembly website I find there are loads that I dont ever personally hear about, it makes me wonder if they actually do anything when there. It seems to me you hear about the ones who have something to say, for better or for worse and then there are a bunch of others, might i be so bold as to say up to 50% that are barely ever mentioned in the news. Is that because they literraly have nothing to say on anything and just hit the voting button now and again so their name pops up on a peice of paper. Must be a great ego builder!

There are too many of the suckers and yes perhaps free peashooters should be given to all those in the public gallery

In the old days in Churches, the ushers (derived from "Hushers") were the guys who had the long sticks and who poked peops who were either asleep or gabbling too much, hence the name.

I think in the Chamber of horrors we still have "Hushers", beleive me when I tell you that if I were given the job I'd know my remit!!

I am speechless because of Deputy Jeune’s speech in the States.

Lack of communication skills, and at the beginning of her little speech she tells us people she has spoken to people, who  do not want an enquiry because they are happy with an apology made by the Government and they are happy for closure.

Then towards the end of her little speech she takes the complete opposite view ( there are a few not happy ), and after a simple question, she says those that do want to take this further  can write books and talk to people.

You truly have to hear it to believe it.

How did this muddled thinker ever get the job, St. Brelades must have been desperate or not bothered.

Click on link to listen to Deputy Angela Jeune.

If you live in St. Brelade, are interested in local politics and voted for this woman at the last election I suggest you take a Tuesday morning off sometime between now and the next deputies elections.

I can promise you that once you've witnessed this woman in action you will never vote for her again.

She spoke at the shelter meeting the other week, I had no idea who she was and half way through her ramblings I started to doze off.
You can't get good chinese takeout in China and cuban cigars are rationed in Cuba. That's all you need to know about communism

Deputy jeune was the best person out of the three that stood for deputy. That will tell you how good the other two were.
One forgot to bring his written speech with him and the other forgot their reading glasses.
If ever there was a case to have on the ballot papers "None of the Above".
I spoke to her about the upcoming debate on the Proposition of having an enquiry on the child abuse case.
She said that she was going to vote against it because the victims have had their day in court with the cases that have been judged on.
I tried to tell her that the people i speak to want an enquiry on how it was able to happened. Also i want answers on the civil servants, police etc etc who took no actions when it was reported to them. Also the case about Victoria College and the people involved with that including one of them being given a high payed job in the Harbour Office with the main duty was to look after children on boat activities. I want justice! I want the guilty bought to book! This is the only way that Jersey would be able to hold it's head up high again to the outside world.
Also Power,Harper and Syvret not forgetting Bellwood as well who were the people were responsible for the actions that were taken against them.
All this cut no ice with her.
God help St.Brelade in the next elections.

I posted on here some time ago about Deputy Tadier and trying to be funny in the States Chamber and it was not  doing him any good at all.
I will take my hat off to him with how he went about his speech yesterday on the Child abuse Enquiry proposition. He really was good but i still wish that he did not try to make these funny remarks that just do not come off. If he stayed with the serious side of himself he would be thought of in a much better light. I hope that he gets in again.

Please don't thank me man in the street,  the praise must go to who ever runs  "thejerseyway" this is a fantastic blog that allows the public to listen to key note, and interesting speeches.

I think it is really useful to add that even if a person likes the views and enthusiasm of a certain politician, who broadly reflects the views of that person, there will still be times when the politician will take up an opposite view on an issue.

I have no problem with a politician that has a well founded, researched and objective view point because it shows they are interested and hopefully open to views that may advance the position.

Deputy Angela Jeune was elsewhere when the proposer spoke.

The old saying that the mind is like a parachute only works when its open makes a lot of sense here. We know what to get Deputy Jeune for Xmas.

As a foot note some one has gone to the trouble of transcribing her dribble of a talk, click the link above it is on thejerseyway site.

She said that she was going to vote against it because the victims have had their day in court with the cases that have been judged on.

That is factually incorrect. Only those the AG judged likely to result in prosecution had their day in court.  The test for criminal prosecution is beyond reasonable doubt.   For those whose cases were thought to be less likely than that, but possibly higher than the civil test level  - balance of probabilities - have not been heard.
