The Town Park was never one of my election promises and also I'm never told what to do by the COM believe it or not I listen to the debates in that chamber and vote by my own decision and no one else's influence or say so.

Thats not the case at all.  Just because of a Town Park vote I say sod what the public want, well that's just a ridiculous thing to say.  But putting £10m into the coffers doesn't mean it will happen any quicker especially if it does cost the £23m stated.  It has now been voted through and should any attempt at a rescindment motion be attempted then I would not agree to rescinding this as it has been democratically voted through by the house on the 2010 business plan and we need to stick to it and try to all work together to make sure we can provide through efficient and effective methods for what the public want.

Well what will be will be, its up to the voters at the end of the day and if I haven't done enough for them then it is their right to elect someone else!

So rather than resign with a bit of dignity, you will hang on to your tax-payer funded salary until you are forced out for renaging on your promises?

This is obviously a lost cause!  Believe what you will but no I will not resign from doing a job that I'm supposed to do and nowhere on my manifesto at election time did I promise anyone a Town Park.

When did the town park become THE issue on this thread? The incinerator was the first truly noticable time Deputy Vallois broke an election promise and whilst I don't have the facts to hand I am very reliably informed that there have been other occasions. I will evidence these today and post on them later.

In the meantime I found this quote online from the Deputy's election campaign. "I believe the work at The Bridge (old St Mark’s School) is an excellent example of a facility in the community working for the community. I would seek to get involved with the work there".

As somebody who is directly involved with The Bridge and Brighter Futures I'd like to know what efforts have been made by the Deputy in this respect.

Deputy Vallois, the electorate who voted you in did so, albeit by a very narrow margin of 17 votes in St. Saviour, because they felt that your manifesto clearly set you apart from the conservative old guard. Tucked neatly under the wing of Senator Alan Breckon you portrayed yourself a young woman with a desire for change and for our government to take a more compassionate approach to social policy.

Given the above why have you when it really mattered voted for the Incinerator, againt Bob Hill's Verita proposition and now against the allocation of funds for a Town Park in the most deprived part of St. Helier.

In addition why did you never get back to one of PJ's long term posters 'Pomme de Terre' regarding the issue of publishing all elected members manifesto's on a publicly accesible website?

And finally - would you be so kind as to tell me what you have done for The Bridge and The Brighter Futures charity that runs it?

Thanks.

I don't know if Tracey ever did get an answer from the comms unit. She did kindly offer to look into it for me, but the thread kind of died, there certainly wasn't a response to me.

In TAV's defence, it's not really her job to do my digging for me (although I'd be pleased if she did). On reflection, it ought to be the Privileges and Procedures Committee who look into this, as it is they who spend thousands of pounds on initiatives such as www.vote.je to try to increase voter turnout, only to brush them under the carpet as soon as the election is over, so we can't hold people accountable a few years down the line.

TAV - maybe you could instead give Juliette Gallichan a nudge about this waste of taxpayers money please? It probably falls into her court. We paid for www.vote.je and it does still annoy me that it has been actively taken offline.

BTW, next time I'll be saving a copy of all the manifestos.  ;D
