should we swallow it or what?
Is it an island favourite , or just a very trite , boring, little minor vintage?
And by the way Tonights letter in the paper outing Nellie was just fabulous, my son shouts a lot at football matches so I can imagine her problem.
As a football umpire of over 50 years standing I have got used to the smell of the crowd, but I really think it is just a tad sad , when mummy does the Shouting.

Would that be Commissioner Page's remarks in the 2000/1 judgement/appeal in Macon -v- Queree by any chance Adrian?  An interesting case and no mistake.  Still, it was quite a while ago.......................  Mind you credibility once lost can be awful difficult to regain.

Ah, would that I had the technical wherewithal to assist with a link.  I'm sure it's buried somewhere in the Jersey Law Reports.  Sorry to be cryptic but fools rush in and all that.  Seriously, if you can find the judgement/appeal it's a long, informative and at times interesting read.

No secret at all. We won the case and were awarded damages, unfortunately the judge was sympathetic to our landlady (who had conned us out of £50K) and some of her witnesses even though it was obvious they were lying through their teeth - his judgement started with "I had made up my mind before hearing any of the witnesses...." so much for Jersey justice. The JEP weren't interested in hearing our side of the story, not even speaking to our lawyer and so the write up was totally biased. Makes no difference to the outcome - we still won the case.

How much of your £50,000 did you get back?
These sort of things appear to be fairly rife.
I think we should get Alvin to start a petition against legal fraud.

£26K and no explanation as to how they arrived at that sum. Did you know that in Jersey the same judge hears the appeals? That means that you are asking a judge to admit he has made an error of judgement - no wonder not too many appeals are successful.

Absolutely and totally wrong the Court of Appeal consists of QC's  High Court Judges and judges from Guernsey.

Such lies should not be tolerated

PS Your costs were taxed costs i.e. they were written down to the charge out rate a more junior advocate would earn.

All successful litigants suffer the same in the UK which is better than the US by the way where the loser does not pay.
