If you live in St Helier, you would still be able to take your rubbish to Bellozane and they will then dispose it. It is I believe a condition of the Bellozane covenant.

Yes the fuel farm could blow up all by itself, however it could be a bigger bang being within the exclusion zone of the incinerator.

bellozane s crane grab  is clapped out, and  the crane mans enviroment in the cab is far from ideal, ive been in it , i would guess that the whole thing is past its sell by date.
we are stuck with the new one, like it or not, rather like the tipping of taxpayers money into the cavern, we will be putting it up the chiminey.
covernants, get changed, it would be a good read ," the covernant of  bellozane"

Will St Helier residents have to pay to dump stuff at the new incinerator?

Here's a reply from Simon Crowcroft to a question I put to him on his blog http://sthelier.blogspot.com/2009/04/businesses-wont-pay-for-town-recycling.html

As i understand it, the BZ covenant means that St Heler ratepayers will enjoy free refuse disposal in perpetuity. I've often wondered about a test case being taken to establish why, as taxpayers, we should contribute to the cost of waste disposal, given the terms of the covenant. The cost of collection is met from the rates, not the cost of disposal. The covenant means that the States can't introduce a gate fee to help finance the new incinerator.
