Frank Walker on Newsnight - UNEDITED
« on: February 27, 2008, 11:48:22 AM »
This week Frank Walker was interviewed by BBC's 'Newsnight', the subject of discussion being the child abuse scandal. The J.E.P. saw fit to publish an edited transcript of this interview - and gave Walker the space to comment upon his 'unjust' treatment at the hands of Jeremy Paxman, whom he called "unprofessional".

So, in the interests of being completely fair and balanced, here is a link to the original unedited interview.

http://tinyurl.com/2wucfc (select the video titled ' Jersey Child Abuse Ignored').

I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions about the J.E.P.'s take on events.

Children's home in St. Clement was called Brig-Y-Don, and was near Green Island beach. Within spitting distance of Frank Walker's childhood home, as it happens.

I think it was set-up for children who had Polio. I'm not aware of any abuse there. Who knows.

Frank deserves an apology.  Especially from the people that really made a dogs dinner out of this.  The amount of hatred he had to contend with from the so called "new left" was nothing short of disgusting.

BBC apology or not, he still made an A**E of himself on TV, and that was not the only time.
Remember him having the ,"Jersey Wall-paper", pulled down live on Telly?

I notice that they got "a complaint", i.e. just the one complaint.  Can we guess who made that complaint?

Just goes to show how little support he had, from the people of Jersey.

Well I am pleased he has had an apology.  So we now have no murders, a confirmed miss quote on the Paxman show and little in the way of publicity anymore on the whole matter.  It was 20 years ago so why Frank is still being blamed is daft really.  We now know that such an occurance can never happen again, so now is probably the time to put a line under the whole thing.  I doubt there will be much more in the media about this anymore and perhaps it is just as well because many of us are sick of this story now.

Ahhhh, Now.... that's exactly what Frank's gang wanted - brush it all under the carpets with all these vile people like the McGuires go scotfree. Never mind these "low life" victims - it was their own fault for being vulnerable and orphans
Who says there were no murders ? Do you have an explanation for the incident of lime being found in a freshly dig pit outside HDG ? Why was the builders told to " mind his own business" when he was told to fill the pit in the day after having dug it ? There are simply TOO MANY questions unanswered and the fact it : Either Lenny and his officers are lying or the two newly appointed characters, warcup and co are lying as their views are completely opposite. The evidence is locked in the police station and we have no access to it
So tell me : Which of the parties is lying ?  There has to be one !

The island deserves an apology from Walker for the way he has shafted Jersey internationally by just being its Chief Minister and what came out of his mouth

You are talking nonsense.  What have you got one year on?  Chief of Police suspended and Deputy Chief evidence dismissed.  Hardly any arrests and a likelihood of no further.  Warcup said on CTV the other night that many of the these alleged perpetrators are dead.  And they cannot get enough evidence together to put cases against people due to the onus of proof and going back decades.  Today we get a BBC apology to Frank Walker for being miss quoted (which we all knew all along anyway) and you say this is all establishment run?  I am just dismayed that people are still out there talking such a load of rubbish.  How can people take groups like this seriously when they cannot accept the truth for a change.  I am sorry but a year on you cannot point the finger at the establishment because if you do then you are not living in the real world.
