The first post ever about Deidre Mezbourian on Planet Jersey and what a big one.

There are fresh fears Jersey's one pound note could be withdrawn from circulation.
St Lawrence Constable Deidre Mezbourian, says the Assistant Treasury Minister failed to mention the pound note, after announcing new designs for all other note denominations.
She says a number of parishioners have already raised concerns about its withdrawal. She's asking for assurances from the Treasury Minister, that the pound note is here to stay.

Ozouf in the States today told the members about the new pound note and others including bring in a £100 note. So no the £1 is still with us in paper form.

Yes it is here to stay and in order to seperate the working class and the wealthy the working class will keep their £1.00 notes and the wealthy are getting a new £100.00 note. It is also designed to seperate the TGWU workers and the Top £250,000.00 a year Civil Servants who probably use their £1.00 notes for toilet paper.

Nice one, I love having our own money and to think I will only have to save 250 of the new ones to get £25000 save as opposed to £250 I will be able to buy a flat outright in hmmmm 2500 months, result!

Ah yes, those would be the Gloucester street flats in 2050 when our new nuclear power plant at Elizebeth castle breaks down!!
And Sparticus, some people do care about Jersey and its uniqueness.
