In contrast, those who retire from the States often re-emerge on voluntary bodies (or even well-remunerated bodies, in the case of Pierre Horsfall or Gerard Voisin at Web on £30,000 p.a. part-time).

Yeah, jobs for the boys!
Pierre Horsefall used to keep his boat in the Island site, when the hire car tenant of the section met him he wanted to put his boat (for free) in the bit that was tenanted out. "Do you know who I am??" was used!

Anyway, I reckon the broken blessed has emerged from a few involuntary bodies as well!

Someone else (who shall be nameless) used several parking spaces on Housing Department property to park their cars, including one garage!

Really weird -

Jersey Insight noted:

"Stuart Syvret has appeared in Jersey's Magistrate's Court to face data protection and motoring charges for the first time since losing his post as senator...."

which I found on Google, but the news story has since completely vanished from their site, so all one can read is the snippet picked up by the robot.

At this rate Deputy Labey is perfectly safe from being taken to court by SS  :D

I could never see any likelihood of that. Assuming the PDF is genuine, the calculations all seem to miss the counter-calculation of living with the Deputy rent-free when he moved in.

If there had been any rental element, he would have claimed it back, but he only mentioned petrol and consumables purchased, so there was evidently no "board" for electricity, water, rates etc.
