Official complaint about Housing Minister Terry Le Main.
« on: April 07, 2008, 10:50:54 AM »
Deputy Geoff Southern has written to the Privileges and Procedures Committee, accusing Senator Le Main of breaking the Data Protection Law during the rezoning debate in the States last week. In his complaint, Deputy Southern also accuses Senator Le Main of breaking the States Members' code of conduct by failing to declare his friendship with a local developer, named in the States as 'Mr Noel of Alpine Estates'. Senator Le Main has denied the allegations, claiming that they are 'totally and unbelievably false'. He says he has only spoken on behalf of two applicants to planning in his time as minister, and neither involved Mr Noel. 'I have never represented him and I have got nothing to hide,' he said.

Hasn't Terry Le Main broken Data Protection before?  I seem to remember him releasing some states tenants rental details in a letter to the JEP a few years ago?

T L M has been cleared by P&P of a similar complaint - it may even be this one taht I recall as the post is old!
That said I hope GS leaves contentious isues like this until post election fever as teh JEP will only do the usual and demonise GS.......yawn...so tedious!

Yes he did release details and it was all covered up and the states tenant was looked after if they did not pursue it further.  This they agreed to do as TLM was hounding them personally at home  and they were incredibly distressed.

Terry (GST28) Le Main has complaints against him to the PPC currently. He is also going to be the subject of a substantial Blog very soon.

Whatever you do, don't send him a Christmas card - see letter in today's JEP

I refuse to buy the JEP and they haven't published his letter on their online version, what has he written?

It's a long rambling letter about Christmas cards and how for the first time he will only send them to close friends and family as the money could be better spent on the many poor people in the world. The idea is fine but the way he goes on about it is embarrasing. I think he is 70 now and well past it but he has 3 years to go !
Not a bad bloke and I think his heart is in the right place. Unfortunately he is not the brightest spark and during the life of Minsterial government he has been manipulated by the other ministers especially Walker. They have told him what to say on many occasions and Terry didn't really know what he was talking about
Ready for retirement !

Moot point!

I totally agree about Tegs being merely a mouthpiece for the boys!

Moot.

Thanks for that. I managed to get a copy of the letter from a neighbour. He certainly doesn't appear to be batting on a full wicket does he?

I have never met the man but i have seen the bully in action in the states...

This is my take on terry....He reminds me of a person who always wanted to sit at the top table but never had the money or brains to get there... So what do you do....

You become a yes man to the people in power, check his voting record its online..
And this is how in (my opinion) he gets looked after when he makes a mess of things....its that easy.

You wouldn't want to meet him, he is the typical bully type all mouth when he has people to back him up, but hasn't got the bottle to have a go at anyone who would have a go back. all in all a sad little man. in my opnion
