Is Frank Walker really going to get a knighthood?
« on: May 27, 2008, 07:30:42 AM »
I find it hard to believe that he would get knighthood, he is only the leader of a glorified town council, if red ken doesn't get one for being a mayor of London for years, what chance has Sir Frank Walker (sic) got?

There has been alot better Jersey politicians than him who haven't even got an MBE, if it was up to me I would make him a life peer in the house of lords for the shafting jersey internationally party.

What makes people think he will get an MBE anyway?

They give these awards out like candy these days anyhow.

You are sounding paranoid, who is the next target when he retires then?

You know if anybody read the comments about Walker & Co, the Bailiff etc, on some of these websites they would think the Island is under the rule of Mugabe!

Walker being the Chief Minister has never bothered me as much as some people and I still cannot get my head around the anger towards him despite the fact that he is stepping down shortly.  I also think the anger that is shown towards some other Senators in general will probably put some people off going into politics.

Frank Walker has been a victim of e-mails and allegations that show more spitefulness than actual decency.  I read some of the comments on the boards and they were made from rumour and not fact.

I don’t mind sticking my neck out and saying that I think he has in some respects been treat terribly by the left in Jersey.

But like I said, he retires soon so what is the point of going on and on about him all the time anyway?

And this is all down to him is it?  He is the sole person that has ruined your life?

What do you do out of interest?

My standard of living has fallen.
I have less disposable income than ever.
I am finding it harder to make ends meet.
He has ruined Jersey with his greed politics.
He has embarrassed me as a Jerseyman to the outside world.
He has brought in GST to rub peoples noses in it whilst leaving the rich to lord it up at our expense.
He has devalued my believe in politicians immensly.

UK and US standards of living have fallen
UK and US disposable income is down
UK and US residents are finding it harder to make ends meet.
Jersey is not ruined, it's still a great place to live. Expensive, but great.
Agreed.
He didn't technically bring it in with the express goal of "rubbing peoples' noses in it".
You once believed in politicians?  :o  ;D

According to JB, Walker is a bit like the Wicked Witch of the East from the Wizard of Oz and he feels like poor little Toto........................

Tyrants come in many different guises.
No one I have spoken to has a good word to say about Mr.Walker and the stories they tell are unbelievable. The anger when they say his name they express often in four letter expletives.
They cringe when they see him, or hear him on TV.

Maybe there are people that like him but I haven't met any yet.
Everyone I know blames him for the state the island is in due to his pandering to business interests.
At the Time For Change Meeting in the Royal Square much was written about him.
Sky news even filmed these boards.
Why should people mention him?
Also the police filmed all this why?
Who has seen what the police filmed?
Is everyone wrong in their observations?
I have requestioned people many months later and they repeat exactly what they have said word for word.
Only people who tell the truth can do this as liars always alter their stories with time even if only a little.
This is how you verify who is telling the truth.
You are free to believe what you like, it is your perrogative.

I have a corker, from the mouth of john cooper clarke, i know its a bt dated, but check out twit, i think it just about sums him up.

I agree with this.
