Frank says "I am not an idiot or a liar".

Jersey's Chief Minister told the States today that the Waterfront fiasco has left him wrongly portrayed as either 'an idiot' or 'a liar'.

He's accused of either being duped by the Waterfront Enterprise Board and the developers, or deliberately misleading the House.

Senator Frank Walker says he's never known such a bitter and acrimonious dispute during his 18 years in the States.

There's a vote of censure against the Bailiff. The Council of Ministers face a vote of no confidence. And Senator Walker himself also faces a vote of censure.

It comes to a head on July 1st. Senator Walker has promised a full investigation and says all the reports will be made public before the debate.

We've been asking you for your views on the Waterfront fiasco here at Channel Online. So far, eighty three per cent of you have told us you're 'appalled at the situation'. Here are a few of your comments...

"With the HDG saga, the Waterfront saga, the behaviour of politicians and Bailiff alike, the Island of Jersey seems to have well and truly pressed the self-destruct button with regard to world credibility. "

And another: "Whether Sean Power has a grevance with Harcourt is irrelevant....the Council of Ministers have been negligent and lied to other members of the States and the public that they are supposed to represent."

What do you think?

I beg to differ with our chief minister and would say that if the shoe fits....

On this issue he has either told an untruth to the general public when he stated "To suggest that there is a legal dispute is very misleading, No legal motion has been filed to Harcourt in Las Vagas". for untruth read LIE

OR

As the lagal case had been filed nearly a month previously AND he had received emails from members advising him of the case and and didn't check himself and instead chose to accept the word of a company that is being sued for what is in my view tantamount to lying. Well I believe that idiot is the nicest word most people would use, especially in a deal worth hundreds of millions of pounds.

I still have to work out which of the two he is, an idiot or a liar. Personally I don't believe he is that stupid.

He has just got to go.  It is over for him, cock up after cock up after cock up.  He is old school and nobody wants him in politics anymore.  In my opinion He is a liar and a complete tit.

His replacement is too old as well.  We cannot have an arrogant  dinosaur as our next Chief Minister. I am sick of this Government, I am sick of reading about them and seeing them on the TV all the fukcing time.

Regardless of whether he was lying, stupid or whatever - I know I've had a guts full of Frank Walker and Le Sueur.

Has he even offered an explanation, or just denied everything?

Where he says "he's never known such a bitter and acrimonious dispute during his 18 years in the States.", this is just standard procedure when a person's neck is on the line.  He's just trying to distract from the accusations against himself by making accusations about others.  This is what school boys do when they're in trouble with the teacher!  What a guy.

I don't know what it is but I just cannot stand him anymore.  Every time he comes on TV you just know its going to be "Its not my fault".

Everytime Le Sueur talks in his dalek voice about the economy you know its going to be "good news" emmmm but not for you.

You know this is not a Government to be proud of and if Le Sueur becomes Chief Minister and speaks like a dalek to the world media, what the fukc will they think of our Island?

It is all shit.

I cannot think of any.  They are either not good enough or not experienced enough.  The thing is you have to look at Guernsey, how many votes did their Lynden Trott get?  Just over a 1,000 in the elections and now leads the Island.  Some people were livid in Guernsey when this happened, but it was out of their control.

Now we have the situation were the bloke does not even have to stand in the Autumn elections.  I think that alone is wrong.

Do you remember this man?

I cannot see Freddie Cohen, Phil Ozouf or Simon Crowcroft standing by whilst Terry Le Sueur "does a Gordon Brown". The knives will come out.

There used to be an acronym that I haven't seen written for a while now: WOLSATA. Walker, Ozouf, Le Sueur And Their Allies. I think that alliance will crack when Frank Walker retires.

I foresee a right wing struggle between Freddie Cohen and Phil Ozouf, with Simon Crowcroft playing the role of "working man's champion who will not scare off our major industry". Crowcroft could be a good bet for Chief Minister, to provide some much needed stability in the middle ground. He is also untainted by any business dealings.

Whatever happens, it will be entertaining to come back and read my prediction in the autumn!  ;D You should note that I'm currently leading my office's Euro 2008 predictions competition (Portugal to win btw), so I have stellar form in the predictions arena!!!  ;D ;D ;D

I hope we just see some better people standing for election this Autumn.  People that understand ALL the people, not just the 1.(1).k.s, or the local property tycoons but ALL the fukcing people.

Not much to ask is it?

I do agree with all of the above, Jersey has had 20 years of inept, inefficient, joy-riding, free-loaders who have squandered money on pointless schemes in mindblowing proportions.

Think of the never ending road works, (the round-about at five oaks has been changed 3 times in the past 2 years, the Jersey harbour carpark has been dug up more times than I can remember).

Winter 2006, the Albert quay Ferry terminal was re-painted during the course of 3 months. The job was finally finished mid March 2007, then lo and behold, not a month had passed and it was repainted again because the first paint job didn't match the "Jersey Tourism corporate colours".

Every person of every age that I speak to, agrees that we seriously need change.  We need to motivate people to go out and vote but our biggest challenge is that we must first find an alternative.

This has to be quite the funniest thing Frank Walker has said in his entire political career. And in many ways it reveals quite how out of touch this loon has become.

He's basically asking us to believe, after wave upon wave of well documented failures by him and from within his administration, that he's an intelligent and honest man. INTELLIGENT & HONEST!!!

This guys is truly nuts. Two stops past Dagenham - BARKING!
