If you have two people in a relationship both in politics, if they agree, that's easy - they can get married like Robin Rumboll and Cynthia Horne, but if they disagree (as they may have done on some matters), then you can
1) slog it out and row at home, especially if disagreements become public
2) make a deliberate decision that neither criticises the other publicly, and avoid friction, and just concentrated on shared areas.
3) discuss and sort out your differences like mature adults so you can present a united front
Of these, (1) is not really at option - who'd stay together with endless rows on public criticism of each other's politics, and (2) looks very good, but can lead to a build up of concealed personal friction, which may erupt like a volcano at some point.
It seems clear that the reason Deputy Labey kept silence was more (2) than (3). But what does she do now?
1) publicly and distressingly resort to acrymonious verbal fisticuffs with Mr Syvret
2) maintain a dignified silence and ignore any emails from him
I think (2) is the likely option, especially with the looks she may get from some States members. So don't expect any reaction from her part.
Of course, she probably needed an escape valve, to tell someone what she thought, and we all know what happened there!
